Style trend for the next season from the first red Carpet of the year
Yes, it is true, they are celebrities, yes, it is true, they are perfect, they have done detoxing for 10 days, alternating fastings and who knows how much gym, in order to look wonderful in the outfits that we have certainly already seen in some magazines; however, in this article we do not want to offer you unreachable models of beauty, we just want to take a look at some trends together with you, trends which will surely be visible in the fashion of the year 2020, directly from the Golden Globes, the awards that the American association of the foreign press specialized in cinema and TV assign in a much awaited ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Many call them the technical Oscars, those given by journalists who watch hundreds of films and TV series per year and whose judgment is expected and feared; in fact, it is the first red carpet of the new year; the celebrities are all dressed up, under the flashes of the photographers, and what they wear says a lot about what we mere mortals will see in the windows of our favorite stores.
The color of the year 2020 is the pantone CLASSIC BLUE, word of the gurus of color harmony and trends; they already announced it last November: In this series of three photos you see a pastel blue variation in the center, wonderfully interpreted by Armani Privé for Renée Zellweger. A lot of water has passed under the bridges, from the awkward and very nice Bridget Jones, who today is fabulous in this design of cuts and tears, and we are sure that King Giorgio has given Renée’s stylist only one indication regarding accessories: less is more. Look to her right, the Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra dressed by the mastery of the very American Cristina Ottaviano, former stylist of Mark Jacobs and La Marchesa and now designer of the maison that bears her name: The pink color acquires a new hue on the skin of the beautiful Indian woman, and the skillful play of drapery dresses the abundant breasts, enhancing the shoulders to wrap up the waist in a perfect spiral. We leave to last a very photographed dress by Dior for the haughty beauty of Charlize Theron, which the fashion editors from all over the world have adored and which has left many fans of the splendid forty-year-old South African actress and model perplexed.
Take a look at that point of lawn green combined with black, at the Amazonical one-shoulder that ends in a voile cape of the same color as the corset, chosen to play down the almost severe line of this dress. Shall we bet that we will see both this combination and a good deal of one-shoulder dresses in this year’s fashion trends? Irregular necklines give a lot to curvy women, they readjust breasts and shoulders, especially if combined with an underbust cut: take note.
Here is another recurring element that is very likely to be part of this year’s fashion trends: vintage-style sleeves. Whether they are large, draped or puffed balloon shapes on the wrist, combined with a simple and slippery line, or an underbust cut, they can be an excellent idea for a quick blouse to wear with trousers or a formal dress.
We end with two real ladies, who shine for the class and simplicity with which they wear their age and white hair without sacrificing glamor. Helen Mirren with the help of Dior teaches how to gracefully dress in a grand soirée dress and wine red color. Giorgio Armani pulls something out of a 19th-century trunk for Glenn Close, that is the vintage charm of a blue velvet frock coat (the French way) or riding coat (the English way): a type of flared double-breasted jacket or shawl collar for men or women, close-fitting at the waist and gently flared, something that we have seen in many costume films as outfits for noble horse riders.
