This is it!: Christmas and New Year’s celebrations are just around the corner; we are immersed in the last days of work before the break but we’ve already got things on our minds, shopping, gifts, invitations, dinners, evenings of games, aperitifs and recitals at school waiting for us in the next two weeks.

That’s all fantastic and overwhelming, we are very excited about it, but the question is always the same: “What shall I wear”?

This year we have thought about not only giving you some suggestions by letting you enter the very heart of our 19/20 Fall Winter collection, but we are also giving you the opinions of friends who are members of our Lizalù Curvyworld fashion community.

We all want to make our Christmas celebrations as joyful and triumphant as possible and, therefore, we want everything to be excellent; from our outfits to the food, our hair, makeup and the joy of being together! It is the only time of the year when amazing everyone with a just few more sparkles is not only acceptable, but it helps celebrate the holiday. Yes, it’s the holiday season!

So, what makes a perfect outfit for these holidays? In our opinion, it must have one or more of the following elements: velvet, satin, sparkles, ruffles and colors that would not appear out of place on your Christmas tree. It has to be practical (we don’t want to spend all evening or all lunchtime adjusting, pulling up or down or fixing something), and therefore it has to provide a fair amount of coverage, with bonus points available for the lengths and midi sleeves. We must be able to have fun, eat, dance, play with children, unwrap gifts, hug friends and try to stay in tune with even the most grumpy of relatives, so we need to be beautiful and at the same time comfortable.

The outfits we are going to wear must skillfully mix classic lines and luxurious details because nobody likes a dress that is to be worn just a few times or worse, only once; putting your party clothes in the closet until next season, knowing that you still have lots of fantastic options to choose from is part of the fun (and more sustainable)

Some fabrics look especially beautiful on curvy bodies and velvet is definitely one of them. We chose the forest green trousers to put in our curvy living room and it was a triumph of hearts and likes: Whether you choose trousers or a skirt, you should know that you will look fabulous by combining a bodysuit that has a little pattern, a top with a glam detail, a soft shirt with neutral shades of color. Another great thing about velvet is that it never goes out of style, it is actually one of those rare fashion items that are always trendy. In addition, velvet is an excellent fabric for its wearability and adaptability to movements.

The curvy fashion-addicted of the Lizalù Curvyworld Facebook community have indicated that at Christmas you cannot do without wearing something red, but with a touch of glam and modernity, and therefore on the right, we introduce  the winner of the survey for the best outfit for Christmas Eve dinner: a pair of soft palazzo trousers with a bright buckle belt combined with an elegant blouse with a floral pattern that skillfully mixes the warm shades of magenta, powder pink, merlot red and the color of a vicuna.
